New Delhi [India], December 27 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu paid tribute to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his residence on Friday.
Naidu, expressing grief over the demise of the former PM, said that his “remarkable” legacy would always be remembered.
“Paid tributes to former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh Ji at his residence. His remarkable legacy and service to the nation will always be remembered and continue to inspire generations,” Chandrababu Naidu said on X (formerly Twitter).

Additionally, speaking with the media, Naidu credited Manmohan Singh for India’s current prominent position globally.
“Today, India stands in a prominent position globally, largely due to his visionary reforms. He played a crucial role in the implementation of landmark policies such as NREGA, RTI, and the Right to Education… Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was not only an economist but also a bureaucrat, politician, and academician. It is indeed unfortunate to lose such a remarkable personality. His reforms will continue to inspire future generations, and it is the responsibility of everyone to uphold his ideology for the betterment of the country,” he said.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Minister Asim Arun, who was the bodyguard (SPG) of the former PM for about three years since 2004, also expressed his grief over the demise of Manmohan Singh.
“I express my condolences. I got the opportunity for over three years to be with him and travel, in the country and abroad. His lifestyle, the way he used to communicate, and his internal management – it was all inspiring for everyone. His time management as the PM was exemplary. Every night he had a fixed time of one hour in which he used to study,” Asim Arun said.
Manmohan Singh passed away at AIIMS, Delhi, on Thursday evening at the age of 92 due to age-related medical conditions. He had a sudden loss of consciousness at home after which he was rushed to the AIIMS Delhi.
His last rites will be performed at the Nigambodh Ghat in the national capital on Saturday afternoon.
Dr Manmohan Singh’s political career spanned several decades, with notable positions including Finance Minister from 1991 to 1996, during which he spearheaded economic reforms that transformed India’s economy.
